Site Updates – August 9th 2008

The filmweirdness.com website (formerly videoweirdness.com and videoweirdness.wordpress.com) has moved to a self-hosted WordPress blog instead of hosting through WordPress. No offense to the WP folks, of course – they offer a wonderful service.

This will be the last posting on the ‘old’ blog. But just to confuse people it will appear on the new blog also.

I’ve changed the site URL on YouTube from videoweirdness.com to filmweirdness.com also – I collect film, I not video, so this makes more sense to me.

Upcoming videos etc

I have about a month of video queued at present – I’m listing one per day. Upcoming things include more PSAs, TV commercials and movie trailers.

One of the upcoming trailers is a trailer for ‘Out Of It‘ (IMDB) – a Jon Voight movie from 1969 (rated ‘M’ for Mature, by the way). It also stars Barry Gordon and Lada Edmund Jr.  I may put this one on sooner than later … I think it’s pretty neat.  I haven’t seen a trailer for a rated ‘M’ feature before.

Due to a lack of supplies (splices etc) I haven’t even looked at the rest of the movie trailers I have on hand. I’m placing an order tomorrow for reels and tape splices so I can go ahead and transfer the rest of the most recent batch of film that I have received.  It’s about $30 in supplies including shipping.

For those of you who might be curious – I buy my trailers from a seller on eBay that has lots of film.  The last batch I bought was 100 trailers, PSAs and commercials for $100 + shipping (it ended up being about $125).  I want to buy a batch about once a quarter.
